Beat-1 alignment and clip stretching improve in Studio, for Premier users editing on the timeline

On 8 October 2026 Suno’s Studio release notes, for Premier subscribers, listed tighter beat-1 detection on new clips, shift-click-drag timestretch, and exponential or logarithmic fade curves. The notes target a cappella alignment and sample matching. License and distribution terms are not in the post.

What happened

On 8 October 2026 Suno’s Studio release notes listed three changes: more accurate detection of beat 1 (the first downbeat) on new clips; shift-click-dragging to timestretch a clip; and fade curves that can be exponential or logarithmic. Studio is the browser DAW included with a Premier subscription.

What changed

Clip and take starts previously needed manual alignment, and fades were linear. Suno says the update reduces hand-aligning non-rhythmic clips such as a cappella vocals, lets samples and found sounds match a project regardless of tempo, and lets you drag the node on the fade icon to choose a curve. The same notes add pop-out windows for the wavetable synth, musical typing keyboard, and expanded plug-in views.

Whose work this affects

This is a generate-to-export step for Premier users who line up vocal, beat, or BGM clips on the Studio timeline before a YouTube or client delivery. It covers fixing a cappella that miss beat 1, stretching off-tempo samples, and reshaping a linear fade that bites the attack. License, credit, training opt-in, and distribution terms are not in these notes.

Do this today

In Studio, check beat 1 on one new clip, shift-click-drag one stretch, and drag one fade node; save dated screenshots.
